While Ms. Brent looks the folksinger part, her enchanting work here is much more cabaret than coffeehouse.  Sung almost exclusively in minor keys, the omnipresent romantic themes are typically dark. Even when a major key does appear midway, on “Dark Highway”, the mood doesn’t shift.  While work this monochromatic is risky business, she pulls it off the whole set through; her graceful delivery allowing her worldly-wise lyrics to do their work.  Strategic organ and strings add to the exotic atmosphere.  Strong tracks include “The Mirror”, “Another World” and “Already Gone”.

Lots of great reviews here of Browynne but of the ones I read about her I think this captures her uniqueness in her presentation. I am so honored I got a chance to hear her in Alabama at Sundilla. I am so glad to read that people are taking notice of her incredible talent-she is an astonishing performer. She comes from a place of humility and gratitude for even the slightest recognition of her music which makes her that much more appealing. I have no music background and relative to others I have very little experience to interpret an artist's performance- but as an appreciative attendee I was completely awestruck. I hope she achieves the success she deserves to find.. I have never been so captured by a performer, her unassuming nature is very misleading to the extraordinary talent that lies just beneath the surface.
